Wake Owl Announce Debut Album The Private World of Paradise Out March 4, 2014

Wake Owl will release their debut album The Private World of Paradise, produced by Richard Swift (Tennis, Foxygen), on March 4th, 2014! An early taste of the upcoming LP debuted online today in the form of first single “Candy,” which premiered on The Music Ninja and can be streamed HERE or below. “Candy” is also now available as a digital single on iTunes.

Recorded with notable producer Swift in his National Freedom studios in Oregon, The Private World of Paradise finds Wake Owl expanding beyond the evocative folk found on debut EP Wild Country, released in January 2013. “Candy” exhibits Wake Owl primary member and singer Colyn Cameron’s growth as a songwriter and pursuit of experimentation with different instrumentation. Working together with multi-instrumentalist Aiden Briscall and Swift, the result is the upbeat atmospheric vibe found throughout the album. “There’s a lot more room in this batch of songs to explore live,” says Cameron. “This was a goal of ours from the outset of writing, trying to create space, so that live we could take people on more of a journey. The music is very visual for us, so there will be a strong visual element in the live set.”

Wake Owl will head out on a Canadian tour in February and March, click HERE for all dates. US dates and more information on The Private World of Paradise will be announced soon.
