Thrice Announces Farewell Tour

Southern California’s Thrice today announces the dates for their farewell spring tour. After thirteen years together, singer/guitarist Dustin Kensrue, guitarist Teppei Teranishi, bassist Eddie Breckenridge and drummer Riley Breckenridge will begin their final tour together on May 4 in San Diego, California. The tour spans major cities in North America and is set to wrap with a hometown two-night stand at House of Blues in Anaheim followed by the final show in Los Angeles at Club Nokia. In November 2011 Thrice announced that the band would be taking an indefinite hiatus following the spring tour.

A limited number of tickets have been held for Thrice fans and will be available through an exclusive Ducat King presale that begins Thursday, February 23 at 12pm local. You could buy tickets HERE. Tickets for the general public will go on sale Thursday, March 1 at 12pm local time.

Thrice will be recording live audio at select stops along to the tour for a proposed live album slated for release in late 2012. Supporting Thrice on all dates will be Animals As Leaders with more information including the announcement of additional support bands and details of commemorative merchandise available at the shows will be announced in the coming weeks.
Thrice released their first proper full-length, Identity Crisis, in 2001 and quickly stormed to the forefront of the indie music scene as listeners rejoiced and formed what can only be described as a cult following. Thrice went on to release six highly praised albums – fan favorites The Illusion Of Safety (2002), The Artist In The Ambulance (2003) and Vheissu (2005), the brilliant and intricate four-piece concept album The Alchemy Index: Fire and Water (2007) and Earth and Air (2008), and the band-centric masterpiece, Beggars (2009). Thrice released their most recent full length, Major/Minor last September on Vagrant Records. Thrice has become a staple in the alternative-modern-rock world for nearly ten years now and is known for effortlessly and continuously releasing groundbreaking records.

Thrice was recently recognized by their local music community with the announcement that the band has been nominated for Best Album (Major/Minor), Best Song (“Promises”), and Best Rock band for the 2012 OC Music Awards. In addition, the band will be honored with an Orange County Impact Award when the awards ceremony is held on Saturday, March 3. More information can be found HERE

Thrice Premiere First Song from Major/Minor, Announce Fall Tour

Thrice is celebrating the release of their upcoming 7th studio album, Major/Minor available September 20th, 2011, by offering up a FREE download of the album's first track, "Yellow Belly." Listen to the opening song below, and click the little down arrow for the free download!

Thrice - Yellow Belly by VagrantRecords

The recording of Major/Minor began May 2nd in Santa Monica, CA with Dave Schiffman at Red Bull Studios who mixed “Beggars” and engineered “Vheissu.” As a band that continues to push boundaries, Major/Minor will be no exception.

“It’s definitely the most natural progression from record to record that we’ve had in a while. We did The Alchemy Index, which was totally different [from Vheissu]. Then Beggars was kind of the reaction against that. This kind of makes sense coming out of Beggars, but it’s definitely a different record,” says lead singer Dustin Kensrue. To watch a behind the scenes look at the making of “Major/Minor” please stop by THRICE.net

The band has also announced dates for their upcoming fall tour with special guests. The ticket pre-order link is http://thrice.ducatking.com and the presale begins Monday, July 25th at 12PM EDT. The public on sale begins Monday, August 1st at 12PM EDT.  Full dates below.

Thrice Enters The Studio May 2nd To Begin Recording New Album, Bamboozle Next Weekend!

Thursday, April 20th, 2011 – Orange County, CA: Thrice have been creatively working the past few months on what will be their 7th studio album, set for release early Fall 2011 on Vagrant Records. In support of their upcoming release, the band will perform at the 2011 Bamboozle Festival in NJ kicking off Friday night, April 29th at Hoodwink performing a cover set from Hot Water Music. They will also take the stage Saturday, April 30th performing past Thrice crowd-favorites as well as a new song off their upcoming album.

"We've been off the road since last August, and have spent the past few months working really hard on a new record, so we're itching to play live again. In our experience, Bamboozle has always been a good time, not only because we get to play in front of a ton of people, but because we get to reconnect with so many friends in bands that we've toured with over the years. We're really looking forward to it," says Thrice’s drummer Riley Breckenridge.

The band will return to Southern California immediately after Bamboozle weekend to begin tracking their new album. Dave Schiffman who mixed “Beggars” and engineered “Vheissu” is producing the untitled upcoming album. Schiffman can be credited to working with Jimmy Eat World, Mars Volta, Rage Against The Machine, and more.

This year marks the first time the band will play Hoodwink, a Bamboozle festival opening night tradition where bands perform the music of other bands. The band has decided to cover Hot Water Music. "With our Hoodwink set, we're paying homage to some very good friends of ours; a band that took us under their wing when we were a young and impressionable band, and really showed us what being an honest, hard-working, passionate band is all about," says drummer Breckenridge.

The band will not be revealing which songs they will be covering or which new song of the upcoming album they will be performing. You will have to attend to see! To get tickets to Bamboozle, visit here: http://thebamboozle.com/buy_tickets.php

Friday, 4/29 – Bamboozle Hoodwink – Meadlowlands, East Rutherford, NJ
